Our Search Process
1. Establish Our Relationship
We spend two days with you, getting to know as many of the leadership and team members as time allows. We want to understand your mission, culture, and passions to ensure a great partnership and a successful search – culminating in a leader that is a great fit for your organization.
2. DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT SPECIFIC SEARCH CRITERIA
Your organization is unique and distinctive. During our two-day visit, we establish Key Criteria that will drive our search and identify your next leader. We establish, together, mutual expectations that build Trust – Step by Step.
- Realize the opportunities and challenges that are unique to the position and your organization.
- Determine the skills (soft & hard), expertise and attributes required, offering objective insights and fresh perspectives on how you think and process your needs; when appropriate, we challenge your assumptions and present alternative ideas for how to conceive the position. - Develop an agreed upon customized opportunity profile, telling the story of your company, the position, responsibilities, challenges/opportunities, goals associated with the position, as well as the experience, qualifications and competencies required for success – from day one.
3. PRESENT TO YOU A SLATE OF CANDIDATES
- Present to you the most qualified candidates based on thorough and in-depth analysis and appraisal against the specific criteria
- Develop informal external/internal consensus on each candidate to confirm and enhance our collective knowledge of the candidate’s achievements, track record, and performance
- Perform in-depth executive capabilities assessment, further helping all understand who each candidate is, how they tick, and how to best lead them in a successful transition and future with your organization
- Verify each candidate’s academic qualifications (if appropriate)
4. Complete the Search
- Assist with references (as needed) with final lead candidate
- Assist with background checks (as needed)
- Assist with negotiations regarding compensation package and other, as needed, items to complete the search.
- Act as the liaison and bridge with client and lead candidate during transition.
- Communicate regularly with client and placement during transition.
